Counselling FAQ's
Please reach me at hello@alicewebbcounselling.co.uk If you can't find the answer you're looking for, or you'd simply like to have a chat about counselling, you're very welcome to get in touch.

What happens in the first counselling session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you would like to gain from therapy, and any questions or concerns you may have. There is no pressure to share everything straight away, and we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Do I need a diagnosis to come to counselling?
No. You do not need a formal diagnosis or referral to access counselling. Many people seek therapy because they are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply want a safe space to explore their thoughts and feelings.

How long is a counselling session?
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place at the same time each week to provide consistency and a safe therapeutic space. However, I understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, so I aim to be as flexible as possible. Depending on your needs and availability, I can also offer fortnightly sessions or tailor the frequency of our work together.

What issues can you help with?
I work with a range of issues, including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, bereavement and grief, and the impact of difficult life experiences.

How much does counselling cost?
Sessions are £50 and last 50 minutes. I offer both face-to-face sessions from my counselling room in St Neots and online sessions via video call.
I also offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone call, giving you the opportunity to briefly tell me what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions and see whether you feel I might be the right counsellor for you.
There's no obligation to book.

Do you offer online counselling?
Yes. I offer online counselling, providing a flexible and accessible way to access therapy from the comfort of your own home. Online sessions are held through a secure and confidential platform.
